We keep:

• Account (email, name, password hash or Google/X id)
• Letters, will notes, recipient addresses, and vault files you upload
• Check-in times and IP
• Optional approximate location on a ping (only if you tick the box). Shown to watchers, not letter recipients
• A session cookie (LASTKNOWID) and optional remember-me cookie
• Theme (dark / light / system) in this browser only, not sent to the server
• Copies of mail we send for you (reminders, letters, invites)
• Optional ping PIN hash, API token hash, web-push subscriptions, latest status, and watcher emails
• If you arrive from a tagged link, such as an ad: the tags (utm_* and the Google click id) in a cookie (lastknow_src) for up to 30 days, saved with your account if you sign up. Used only to see which links bring sign-ups

We will not sell that. Recipients get a link, not the letter in the inbox. Emergency stop revokes all release links, including ones already opened. What someone has already read cannot be taken back.

We use the data only to run lastknow.com: check-ins, reminders, sending what you armed, and watcher status. We do not use Google Analytics. Mail is sent through this host; we cannot control recipient inboxes.
